Blueberry Jam

Yesterday at the North Miami Farmers Market, Chef Alan Hughes, formerly of One Ninety Restaurant, had a booth set up selling his line of jams marmalades and preserves.  The presentation was charming and rustic, an indication that all of his products are homemade with simple and natural ingredients.  On his website he says, “they are made artisanally from scratch and in small batches. They are unique, one-of-a-kind… Not one batch or vintage will be the same as another one, different ingredients, flavorings and taste”.

I tried various samples and they were all great; not too sweet, not too salty and best of all not to complicated.  They tasted like something my grandmother would make and I love that.  I ended up picking the blueberry jam and had it on toast this morning!
